Proper diagnosis is the first step in ensuring the best possible outcome for patients with heart disease. Specializing in noninvasive cardiology, Dr. William O. Fletcher uses his experience in diagnostic heart testing to help determine a patient‘s ultimate treatment. Using nuclear imaging technology in a state-of-the-art nuclear lab and full-modality echocardiography, Dr. Fletcher evaluates and diagnoses heart diseases and treatments. This key role helps ensure Appleton Heart Institute patients receive the most appropriate care for their heart conditions.

Dr. Fletcher has also played a leadership role in improving health care in the Fox Valley. He was instrumental in bringing a cardiac psychologist to the Fox Valley, helping ensure patients can effectively change behaviors that directly impact the management of heart disease. Dr. Fletcher is also a member of the Appleton Heart Institute Leadership Council.
A graduate of Harvard Medical School, Dr. Fletcher went on to complete his internship and residency at Mayo Clinic. He also completed a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at Mayo.
Dr. Fletcher joined Appleton Heart Institute in 1991 and maintains a full-time clinical practice in cardiology. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases.
